IDEAL HOME BUSINESS???
«
on:
December 31, 2009, 09:42:25 AM »
hi all
There must be many out there, I constantly get bombarded with email from companies getting you to subscribe to a news letter or something of similar nature.....
Ebooks, selling books, forex, shares etc etc......
Ideally I think we would all like to switch on the computer in our pyjamas, have a cup of coffee, process our orders, go out to lunch and jobs a good un!!
Anyone hit upon anything that could actually sustain a healthy living from working at home?
Im thinking that you have to possibly have 2 or 3 different products??
Ideas and comments all welcome
Thanks

Loads of people are using our system and making a healthy full or part time living from it, (we know because we have so many repeat orders, this is the ONLY dropship of Personalised confectionery available in the world (probably) so why not check it out.

Its great to hear that people are creating successful businesses from scratch. It seems that being able to run a home business that can survive in this climate is a difficult thing to achieve, and this can lead to a lot of business failures and disappointment - people who keep trying different things only to find that there is too much competition or not enough demand.
It seems that there are few genuinely worthwhile opportunities out there for people starting from scratch these days.

I think that there are many people out there that have this notion that to start a business you need to have premises, lots of money a unique idea, blah blah blah, but i am going to be brutely honest here, these things just are'nt completely true.
think about these points:
Almost any business can be started from home, premises can come later with success.
You dont have to have a unique idea, tried and trusted business's still work fine and there is always room for competition in any business. if you want to start a business based on a tried and trusted idea, you nly need to give it a new twist.
You dont need a great deal of money, ok, you need some money, but not to the extent that you need thousands and thousands to start a home business, enough for a little stock and a website will get anyone going.
So many people fail because of only one thing, they ultimately think its going to be an easy ride, well its not. if your hearts not really in it, you wont win it. determination and enjoying what you do will make you a winner.
So many people say: Ah but its all well and good having a website, but it will cost me thousands to maintain it and i havent got that sort of money.
This is something that can be rectified by yourself. if your going to be successful in your business, dont even think about wasting your money on paying other people to maintain your website or build your shopping cart etc. Get off your back side and learn how to do it yourself. there are hundreds of reasonable course that will teach how, you just need to put in the effort. In fact there are hundreds of people out there on the www that will help and guide you for free, there is no reason on this earth why you should'nt do it yourself. It's a great learning experience, provides a great deal of satisfaction when things start coming together, and ultimately you save (or profit) from not having to spend thousands on web technicians. Make time and effort to do it yourself, it's far more rewarding, far more profitable, its not as hard as you might first think, and it gives you ultimate instant control over your website.
Yes! I can almost hear everyone shouting, its easy to say that, but where are we supposed to find the time to do that, well, like me, you dont work 24hrs a day, and if you do, then cut it down to 23hrs and spend an hour a day learning how to maintain your own website.
It worked for me, i currently work 16 and 17 hrs a day seven days a week, if I can find time to do it then anyone can.
Failure comes from non determination, giving up when the first site of something going wrong comes up. Ok I know that not everyone is like that. But many that fail are. If your running a little home business and things are getting tough, then get tough along with them, be determined not to let anyone pull you down, be determined not to fail, put your heart and soul into what you do and you will succeed. Nothing is out of your control,
I started my business from home, some might say i got lucky, well to a certain extend we all get lucky with one thing, and thats the initial business idea, whats not lucky about it is the fact that you have to work hard to set it up, keep it going, maintain a fresh pool of ideas, and keep enjoying what you do.
I have seen many friends start home business's from printing services to selling sex toys online, all have failed, on talking to them, here are some of the main reasons why they failed or just gave up.
Were really busy at work just now so i have'nt really got the time to put into running my own business.
The kids run havock every afternoon, i couldnt concentrate so gave it up.
i seemed to be just spending all my spare time working with my business to get it going, i couldnt go out and have fun with my friends anymore.
my biggest obstacle was building and maintaining a website, i just couldnt afford to pay anyone to do it for me, so no website, no business (i covered this excuse above)
And this is what done it for me as far as excuses went: I cant be bothered going to the post office to post my orders, its snowing outside and the council havent gritted the roads.
People with the type of excuses stated above ARE GOING TO FAIL, WHY? because ultimately they all thought it was going to be an easy ride. and they all made excuses to cover the fact that, when it comes down to it, they just couldnt be arsed.,
So many people these days want the money and at the same time think that having a business means that they should sit back and let everyone else do the work and make the money for them. when the first sight of that not happening becomes apparant, they give up.
Running a home business need'nt cost a fortune, it doesnt need thousands to start (many successful business's have been successful with just a couple of hundred pounds start-up) it justs need determination and a genuine will to succeed.
I started a home business, working from a spare bedroom at home, i knew nothing about starting a website or maintaining it, i knew nothing about setting up a shopping cart, i didnt have any money because i was unemployed, I had so save a little from each fortnights jobseekers allowance untill i got the hundred pounds i was determined to have to start up with, i didnt even have a bank account because most banks i approached wanted me to put thousands into an account to open a business account. (yeh, right!)
What i did have though was this: An idea, determination and a willingness to learn. One and half years on, I turned over in excess of £27,000.00 in my first eight months, by the end of my first year, my turn over was in excess of £40,000.00,
But to get that, i had (and still do) work 16hrs/17hrs a day, seven days a week, yes its hard work, but i know it wont be forever, in six months time i will be in a good position to start employing, knowing that i can offer someone secure employment with a decent wage on a long term basis. Then things will allow me to have a few deserved hours break each day, a 14hr day would be bliss.
I enjoy my job, and yes i have had problems along the way, but determination gets you through, I have to work long hard hours seven days a week, but it has been worth it.
So how do I and others succeed in home business?
Determination, not making excuses for not working, making the most of what little money there is, bend over backwards to please those who are spending money with you (no matter how little they spend). be in love with what you do, learn from problems and mistakes because they are not really problems, just answers to the next time something similar happens. If your idea involves having an online shop or similar thing, then make time to learn the technical side yourself, it will ultimately save you thousands (and you just might enjoy it too) believe in yourself and your idea.
Dont give up, success will come.

I have a couple of websites recently set up (and one old one) that generate income through a sales comission from amazon.
I'm no great techie but automatic money is good, and I'm getting better as identifying niche markets with a new piece of software I recently purchased.
http://digitalslidescanner.info
http://digitaldatastorage.com
http://windows7sos.com
and
http://become-a-parent.com
(ebook sales)
I'm in the process of setting up a coaching list to help others do the same. Give me your thoughts on these sites and let me know if you'd like some guidance on this direction.

There are a lot of genuine work from home opportunities and a lot of scams out there. The first rule is that there is no such thing as quick and easy money! if they make it sound too good to be true it will be. There are plenty of genuine ways to earn a living from home however and many of these can easily be compared at my website

I hope the website helps your quest.

That is one of best posts that I have seen on here! can't believe people can't acknowledge it, each to their own I suppose, anyway goes to show there are no magic wands! no magic bullets! when you have found your idea researched to see whether its commercially viable and most importantly assessed yourself whether you can get passionate about it only then with masses amounts of determination and persistance will you have a chance of making it a success.
Sometimes it's very hard when things go wrong, doubts creep in about what you're doing & who you are but the ups can be very rewarding as well
A mixture of LOL and disbelief at some of those reasons for giving up tho
Hats off to ya Digitalliquid
