Hi Gina,
This is a response to your announcement query.
Why did I join?
Basically my selfish reason is to make people aware of the opportunities available by getting in on the ground floor of the Affinities database project. My (slightly) less selfish reason is to use my experience of 40 years in a very wide diversity of businesses to help those starting out or less experienced. Quite willingly for free by answering queries but hopefully as paid mentoring, interim management, or whatever best helps the business concerned.
What else would i like on the site?
How about a blog section? i am looking for somewhere to put up a business startup blog covering the things which are involved in starting up a business or growing a small business a bit bigger. It would be done in response to questions in the topics but the answers would be less specific to an individual and more in depth so as to build into something useful to anyone starting their own business or going into something a bit different to what thwey already do.
I am posting this in the general forum rather than as a PM in the hope that we will find out what other members think about these topics.

I joined because I`ve met lots of people through other forums and become friends with them and shared ideas and tips.
Some were with Utility Warehouse, the business I run from home, but many weren`t.
We are all trying to grow our businesses and be successful so if we can grow together and help each other, surely thats an ideal situation?

Gina, thanks for the reply. Tricky to get a perfect match! many folk onboard will ultimately lead to a percentage of spammers is my guess, because they go looking where they can bulk spam. Hopefully you can moderate them out of business as they arrive on this forum... Love your bug btw. Feels like it needs a good swat to stop it in its endless pusuit of an 8.  you leave my little bug alone he aint done nothin' to you! 
I love to see colourful avatars, am hoping some others will put theirs on, though I dont doubt that the more serious members would be against it. Some of them don't like my pinky coloured writing and the scrolling news thingy at the top, and then they say I need to make my forum different! Hiya chrissie, lovely to see you here again! I do hesitate to send out emails to members 'cos I dont want to alienate people who hate to get bombarded, but sometimes a little nudge gets people posting again so I hope that the majority dont mind too much.
The more posts we get, then, hopefully the higher in the search engines, I think that is how it works!

It annoys me because is so fast and text small I understand though that you are working within the space allowed, so just slowing it would be better. |
